Culture at Microsoft

Overall, amazing family oriented type of company where you really feel like part of a team and supported. We have hotdesking in our office which means no "high up" people have their own office, so we are able to easily work next to our CIO, CFO etc. and have a natural comfortable conversation. We are all seen an equal.

The company's culture is the best thing about my job. Due to the flexibility, and mentality that "you have goals, how you get there is up to you", the people, managers and senior leaders are very supportive and motivational. I have never been in the office past 7pm, and can work from home several days a week. There is no such thing as work life "balance", because to balance you have to separate the two. Microsoft fosters a work life "integration" which means I can work how I want, which has lead me to be able to achieve far more than if I was chained to a desk!

There is no sense of structure/hierarchy. Skip level management are really approachable. I am always surrounded by really smart, capable and helpful colleagues. I would never know who I will be sitting next to until I arrive in the office - oh the things you learn!

Company culture is extremely flexible and great at suiting your needs outside of work. Teamwork is strongly encouraged and easily facilitated. Senior leaders are very approachable as well and will frequently engage in hallway conversations with new hires

Decent at the office, but better after hours. Doesn't feel too hierarchical but can be political. Teamwork is good but location of office means teamwork is less prevalent across the sub.

Allows for good work/life balance. Teaming and socialising is naturally easy due to the culture.
