About the Role

McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust.) Pty Ltd are currently recruiting for Human Resources Graduate to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager Australia, the position will have a focus on providing Generalist HR support to the business, affording the exposure of the construction industry and with a focus to build capability and transition to a project-based role in the future.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Provided administrative support to the Melbourne Head Office Human Resources team
  • Assist with general recruitment activities such as posting job vacancies, reference checking, interviews, inductions and producing employment offers
  • Maintain employee records and files
  • Provide assistance with data analysis and scheduled HR reporting
  • Administer the Chris21/iChris system
  • Provide general HR support to project and corporate office teams

  • The graduate program is a two-year structured program inclusive of four separate rotations
  • Access to a strong support network including senior leaders and expertise within HR and the construction industry
  • A structured mentoring program with a mentor assigned to the Graduate from day one

About You

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Completed a tertiary qualification within the past 2 years in Human Resources or an equivalent degree
  • A strong work ethic and be able to demonstrate relevant job skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, however having a high regard to working well in a team
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including excellent grammar and spelling
  • Be passionate about McConnell Dowell's values of safety & care, honesty & integrity, customer focus, teamwork and performance excellence
  • Have strong commitment to the safety promise of "Home Without Harm"
  • Be a permanent resident of Australia
