The Defence Corporate Pathway is a key enabler of Defence’s mission and provides future leaders across the Department and recruits high-calibre university graduates from all disciplines to five job Streams: Generalist, Human Resources, Information and Computer Technology, Estate and Infrastructure, and Finance.

We can offer graduates meaningful and challenging work from day one. Those who are successful in joining us will undertake a wide range of management, administrative, finance, personnel and policy roles throughout the Department of Defence. Graduates join a network of people all dedicated to working on issues that impact the well-­being of all Australians.

Our 12-month Pathway includes three work rotations consisting of four months each at various locations in Australia (some regional work placements may be available).

We are seeking applications from graduates in the following career Streams:

  • Generalist (All degree disciplines)
  • Finance - (including degrees in Accounting, Business, Commerce; Finance; Economics; Taxation; Banking)
  • Information and Communication Technology (including degrees in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Analysis, Enterprise Architecture, Commercial Management)
  • Estate and Infrastructure(including degrees in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Structural), Environment (Sciences/Management/Law), Construction and Building Management, Planning (Strategic/Urban and Regional/Town/Master)
  • Human Resources(including degrees in Human Resource Management; Business (HR), Commerce (HR), Psychology, Industrial Relations (HR)

Quick Details

  • Salary: APS 4; $67,100 pa + 15.4% super. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will advance to $73,256 pa + 15.4% super
  • Program: 12 months – 3 x 4 month rotations
  • Intake: February
  • Eligibility: Australian Citizens only
  • Location: Canberra (interstate rotations outside of Canberra are available)
